Minneapolis Public Schools Cancel After-School Activities

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — Minneapolis Public Schools has canceled all student after-school and evening activities scheduled to occur on Dec. 16 due to severe weather in our area. Minneapolis Kids after-school child care will remain open until all students are picked up, according to a news release.

School officials say the primary criteria they consider when making weather-related decisions include:

• The safety and well-being of students and staff
• Severity of the weather
• The ability for buses and cars to travel safely
• Timing of weather
