Minnesota Named 2nd Happiest State in America

Minnesota's low divorce rate is one of the factors that contributed to the state's high happiness ranking.

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — Minnesota is the second happiest state in the nation, according to a new study.

Personal-finance website WalletHub conducted an analysis of 2016’s Happiest States in America, and Minnesota ranked second, coming in behind Utah.

To find the states that are home to the happiest Americans, analysts compared the 50 states and the District of Columbia across 28 key metrics.

The data set ranges from emotional health to income level to sports participation rate.

  • 3rd – Adequate-Sleep Rate
