MINNEAPOLIS — Only two teams are left in the race for the Big Ten West, and they happen to be rivals that play at the end of the season. The Minnesota Gophers are one game ahead of the Wisconsin Badgers in their division.
Assuming that 9-1 Minnesota beats 2-8 Northwestern this Saturday in Evanston, and 8-2 Wisconsin beats 4-6 Purdue, the Gophers and Badgers will face off in a game that will have more implications than just who gets Paul Bunyan's Axe for the year.
The winner of Minnesota-Wisconsin would head to the Big Ten title game and most likely face Ohio State.
