Minnesota at Nebraska Football: Everything You Need To Know

Kickoff time, TV, point spread, tickets, parking, traffic and more.

Both Minnesota and Nebraska enter this game with 7-2 records, but the teams’ momentum could not be more different. The Golden Gophers are riding high on a four-game winning streak, with their latest victory being a 44-31 win over Purdue last week. Nebraska, on the other hand, was throttled by Ohio State 62-3. Both teams enter this game tied atop the Big Ten West

Adding insult to injury, Nebraska quarterback Tommy Armstrong left the field in an ambulance after being knocked unconscious. He later returned to the sidelines, but his availability Saturday is uncertain. If he can’t play, backup quarterback Ryker Fyfe will lead the Cornhuskers. Against Ohio State, Fyfe struggled, completing 5 of 18 passes for 52 yards and an interception.

Minnesota is feeling much better about its quarterback situation despite the fact Mitch Leidner didn’t excel against Purdue (14 of 23 for 231 yards, 0 touchdowns, 1 interception). The star of Minnesota’s victory Saturday was running back Rodney Smith, who ran for 153 yards on 24 carries (a 6.4 yard per carry average) and three touchdowns. Smith suffered an ankle injury in the fourth quarter, but is expected to play.
