Minnesota School Closings, Delays, Early Releases: April 3, 2018

Here are the latest delay, closure, and cancellation updates from Minnesota schools as a large snowstorm makes its way through the state.

TWIN CITIES, MN — Hennepin, Ramsey, Dakota, and Washington County are all under a winter storm warning in effect through 1 a.m. Wednesday, April 4. The heaviest snow will be this afternoon, with lighter snow continuing into the evening.

Richfield Public Schools are canceling all afternoon and evening activities.

They will also begin dismissal at RDLS/STEM at 1:30 today. 30 minutes early. Centennial and Sheridan will release at 2:00 p.m. RMS and RHS will release at 2:30 p.m.

Fun Club is also closing at 3:30 so pick up your child by 3:30.

Fridley Public Schools will be cancelling all after-school activities Tuesday evening. Tiger Club will remain open.

Minneapolis Kids School Age Care will remain open Tuesday until all children are picked up.

Independent School District 197 (West St. Paul, Mendota Heights, Eagan, Sunfish Lake, Mendota, Lilydale, and Inver Grove Heights.)

All after-school and evening activities and athletics have been canceled for April 3. This includes all early learning, elementary, middle and high school after-school and evening classes, clubs, rehearsals and sports, as well as community education classes and programs. School-age childcare will remain open until its regular time.

Stillwater Area Public Schools

All students will be released early from school and all after-school and evening activities will be canceled on Tuesday, April 3. Middle and high schools will dismiss at 12:35 p.m. Elementary schools will be releasing students at 2 p.m.

District 196 (Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan Schools) announced Tuesday that all after-school and evening high school and community education activities are canceled, including facility rentals.

The makeup date for the ACT test, originally scheduled for Tuesday, is now April 24. Students in grades 9 and 12 will not report to school on the April 24 ACT makeup date.

Bloomington Public Schools

All Bloomington public schools will close two hours early Tuesday. The bus schedule will run as follows:

  • Bloomington Transition Center will release at 11:45 a.m.
  • Secondary schools (middle and senior high) will release at 12:40 p.m.
  • Elementary schools at 1:20 p.m.
  • Ridgeview at 1:30 p.m.
  • Hillcrest at 1:50 p.m.

There will be no after-school and evening programs, including pre-school, early childhood, athletics and activities, youth and adult enrichment, Metro South ABE, CHOICE Alternative High School, Bloomington Career and College academy, ELS Screening, Learning Exchange and aquatics programs. There will be no activity buses running after school today. Jefferson and Kennedy Activity Centers will close at 3 p.m. and all evening building reservations are cancelled.

Edina Public Schools will be closing one hour early today, Tuesday, April 3, 2018. In addition, afternoon Early Learning classes, as well as after-school and evening activities for today are cancelled.

The bus schedule for the early dismissal Tuesday will be as follows:

  • Valley View and South View Middle Schools will release at 1:30 p.m.
  • EHS and Normandale will release at 2:15 p.m.
  • All other elementary schools will release at 3:00 p.m.

There will be no after-school and evening programs today, including afternoon Early Learning classes, as well as district athletics and activities and Community Education youth and adult programs. There will be no activity buses running after school. All students should go home at dismissal time, school officials announced.

Orono Schools will dismiss Orono High School students and Orono Middle School students an hour early (1:30 p.m. and 1:40 p.m. respectively) and Intermediate School and Schumann Elementary students a half-hour early (approximately 3:10 p.m.) Tuesday.

All evening activities have been canceled.

White Bear Lake Area Schools after-school and evening activities are cancelled Tuesday, April 3. Extended Day will remain open as regularly scheduled.

Busses may run late Tuesday afternoon.

Columbia Heights Public School District after-school activities are canceled for Tuesday, April 3. Mini Adventures and Adventure Club will remain open.

Delano Public Schools will dismiss students early Tuesday. Elementary students will be dismissed at 12:45 p.m., and middle school/high school students will be dismissed at 1 p.m.

Tiger Kids Club will close at 3:45 p.m. ECFE classes end at 11 a.m. Wee Tiger Preschool ends at 11:30 a.m. All Community Ed. programs are canceled. The Tiger Activity Center will close at 1 p.m.

Monticello Public Schools - ISD 882

Due to winter weather and road conditions, all after school and evening activities are canceled April 3. This includes community education activities.

Mounds View Public Schools

As a result of afternoon and evening travel advisories, all after-school programs, practices, events and activities held in Mounds View Public Schools’ buildings are cancelled Tuesday, April 3. No afternoon activity bus routes will run Tuesday. After-school Y Care will remain open until 6 p.m. as usual.

ISD 622 North St. Paul- Maplewood Schools

All after-school and evening activities are canceled for Tuesday.
