Minnesota Weather: Be Prepared For Hail, Severe Storms Friday
A hazardous weather outlook has been issued for several counties in the Twin Cities metro area and beyond.

TWIN CITIES, MN — After a hot and muggy Thursday, Minnesotans should prepare for severe storms arriving this weekend. "Multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected late Friday through Saturday," says the National Weather Service. "Storms will be capable of heavy rainfall and large hail."
A hazardous weather outlook has been issued for several counties in central Minnesota, including: Douglas, Todd, Morrison, Mille Lacs, Kanabec, Stevens, Pope, Stearns, Benton, Sherburne, Isanti, Chisago, Lac Qui Parle, Swift, Chippewa, Kandiyohi, Meeker, Wright, Hennepin, Anoka, Ramsey, Washington, Yellow, Medicine, Renville, McLeod, Sibley, Carver, Scott, Dakota, Redwood, Brown, Nicollet, Le Sueur, Rice, and Goodhue.
"Some thunderstorms may be severe south of I-94 in Minnesota Friday afternoon and night, and area wide on Saturday," reads an NWS advisory.

"Large hail is expected to be the primary severe threat with these storms. In addition, heavy rainfall is looking increasingly likely this weekend which could lead to flash flooding. Area rivers will continue to slowly recede for now, but upcoming rainfall over the next several days could cause them to begin rising once again."

Saturday: Showers and thunderstorms. High near 50. East wind around 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
Saturday Night: Showers and thunderstorms likely, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 10 p.m. Low around 45. East northeast wind around 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
Sunday: Rain and possibly a thunderstorm. High near 47. Breezy, with an east northeast wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent.
Sunday Night: Rain likely, mainly before 1 a.m. Cloudy, with a low around 38. North northeast wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.
Monday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 59. North wind around 10 mph.
Monday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 45. North northeast wind around 5 mph becoming east southeast in the evening.
Tuesday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 59. East wind around 10 mph.
Tuesday Night: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Cloudy, with a low around 48. East wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent.
Wednesday: Showers and thunderstorms likely. Cloudy, with a high near 62. South southeast wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent.
