Minnesota Weather: More Snow This Weekend, No Warmup In Sight

TWIN CITIES, MN — Minnesotans hoping the mid-October snow would melt won't be happy to hear this news. More snow is expected this weekend in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area.

On top of that, there's no big warmup in the forecast. The highest temperature residents in the Twin Cities metro will feel in the next seven days is 37 degrees.

"We'll get a break from wintry weather Saturday, but snow is back in the forecast for Saturday night into Sunday," says the National Weather Service. "Several inches of snow are again possible, with highest amounts expected in southwest Minnesota."

Here's the NWS forecast for the Twin Cities metro:

Friday: Light snow, mainly before 10am. High near 36. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Friday: Partly cloudy, with a low around 21. West northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

Saturday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 29. West northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm.

Saturday Night: A 30 percent chance of snow after 1am. Cloudy, with a low around 24. Calm wind becoming northeast around 5 mph.

Sunday: Snow likely. Cloudy, with a high near 31. Northeast wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Sunday Night: A 30 percent chance of snow before 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 16. North northwest wind around 5 mph.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 27. West northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

Monday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 11. West wind around 5 mph.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 30. South southwest wind 5 to 10 mph.
