Minnesota Weather: 8 Inches Of Snow (So Far) In Twin Cities
The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for parts of western Minnesota.

TWIN CITIES, MN — The Twin Cities has seen 8 inches of snow fall so far this week, and Minnesota weather will feature more snow Thursday. The winter storm will bring snow and wind throughout the day.
The heaviest snow will fall across western Minnesota into northern Minnesota and northern Wisconsin, according to the National Weather Service.
"Snow with a mixture of thunder and sleet will affect southern Minnesota into west central WI trough the morning. Isolated stronger thunderstorms could produce small hail along with brief heavy sleet of snow," says the NWS.

"Gusty east winds of 45 to 55 mph to affect southern MN as well."
The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning that includes Renville, Sacred Heart, and Belview.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation is lifting all no travel advisories for the following southwest Minnesota areas. Roads remain snow covered, however visibility has improved.

- Lyon County
- Murray County
- Pipestone County
- Redwood County
- Yellow Medicine County along US Highway 59 south of Clarkfield
- Yellow Medicine County along Highway 23 south of Hanley Falls
- Yellow Medicine County along Highway 68 east of Canby

Today: Rain, snow, and sleet before 3 p.m., then rain likely, possibly mixed with freezing rain between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m., then rain after 4 p.m. Some thunder is also possible. Areas of blowing snow before 11 a.m. High near 34. Windy, with an east wind 30 to 35 mph, with gusts as high as 55 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. Little or no ice accumulation expected. Total daytime snow and sleet accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.
Tonight: Rain and snow, possibly mixed with sleet before 11 p.m., then rain and snow likely between 11 p.m. and midnight, then snow likely after midnight. Some thunder is also possible. Low around 31. Breezy, with an east wind 20 to 25 mph decreasing to 10 to 15 mph after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New snow and sleet accumulation of less than one inch possible.
Friday: Snow likely before noon, then rain and snow likely between noon and 3 p.m., then rain likely after 3 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 39. East wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Friday Night: Rain and snow likely before midnight, then a chance of snow between midnight and 2am. Cloudy, with a low around 29. West wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
