Rain, Melting Snow On Tap For This Week: Minnesota Weather

TWIN CITIES, MN — Warmer weather will put an end to our streak of snowstorms in Minnesota this week. "We'll see our first prolonged thaw of the spring Tuesday through Thursday, but it will come with a soaking rain," says the National Weather Service.

"Behind this system though, we finally look to get out of this active weather pattern and will have a chance to dry out."

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 30. West northwest wind around 5 mph.

Monday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 16. South wind around 5 mph.

Tuesday: Rain likely after 2 p.m. Patchy fog before 11 a.m. Otherwise, increasing clouds, with a high near 39. South wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Tuesday Night: Rain likely, mainly before 2 a.m. Patchy fog. Otherwise, cloudy, with a low around 35. South wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Thursday: Rain. Areas of fog before 8am. High near 42. East northeast wind 5 to 15 mph becoming north in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent.

Thursday Night: Rain before midnight, then rain and snow likely between midnight and 1am, then snow likely after 1 a.m. Low around 26. Blustery, with a north northwest wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent.
