Minnesota Man Taken By Russian Military In Ukraine, Mother Says

Sen. Amy Klobuchar says her office is working with the State Department and the United States embassy in Ukraine to find him.

A Minnesotan man who was in Ukraine has been taken by the Russian military, according to his mother. Tyler Jacob was living in the country with his wife and daughter.

"My worst nightmare is coming true, and I'm fearful that they are going to torture him and kill him and I'm not ever going to see my son again," Tina Hauser, of Winona, told ABC 6 News.

Hauser has pleaded for help from the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine and Sen. Amy Klobuchar's office.

"My heart goes out to Tyler's family and we will do everything we can to locate him," Klobuchar told ABC 6. "My office is working with the State Department and the embassy to find him and resolve this situation as quickly as possible."

Since Russia invaded Ukraine on Feb. 24, more than 3 million people have fled the country, and more than 700 civilians have been killed.
