MN Twins Ink $100 Million Deal With Byron Buxton: Report
The Minnesota Twins have yet to confirm the deal. However, they hinted at the news Sunday, tweeting "Grab any good deals this weekend?"

MINNEAPOLIS — Center fielder Byron Buxton and the Minnesota Twins reportedly agreed on a seven-year, $100 million contract extension over the weekend. Buxton was set to become a free agent following the 2022 season.
There is a no-trade clause in the deal, ESPN reported, and there are plenty of incentives. Buxton — who has his share of injuries — will receive $500,000 every time he reaches 502, 533, 567, 600, and 625 plate appearances, according to the network.
Buxton can also grab more cash in the MVP race. He will receive:

- $8 million for finishing first in MVP
- $7 million for finishing second, $6 million for 3rd
- $5 million for 4th
- $4 million for 5th
- $3 million for a top 10 appearance
The Twins have yet to confirm the deal. However, they hinted at the news Sunday on Twitter.
