Mom Drove Teen Suspect In Mall Of America Killing To Georgia: Police
A 17-year-old was arrested in the deadly Mall of America shooting. The teen's mother drove him to Georgia after the shooting, police said.

BLOOMINGTON, MN — A juvenile suspect in December's deadly Mall of America shooting was arrested in Georgia Tuesday, Bloomington Police Chief Booker Hodges announced.
Federal and state authorities arrested 17-year-old Levon Semaj Longstreet in Decatur, Georgia. He was charged with second-degree murder and second-degree assault.
The suspect's mother, who Hodges identified as Erica McMillian of Minneapolis, was also arrested Tuesday in Golden Valley on suspicion of aiding and abetting a suspect.

"Your son kills somebody....and you drive him to Georgia," Hodges said, dismayed, at a Tuesday news conference. "You cannot kill somebody in a mall and think you're gonna get away with it."
"I just don't understand what's wrong with these people."

Tuesday's arrests were in addition to the five people arrested and charged in the shooting last month.
Johntae Raymon Hudson, 19, was killed shortly before 8 p.m. Dec. 23 after a fight broke out between two groups at the mall, according to Bloomington police.
During the altercation, which occurred in Nordstrom, someone pulled out a gun and shot the teenager multiple times, according to police.
The following morning, five people — two men, including Adams-Wright, and three boys — were arrested at an apartment building in St. Louis Park, police said.
