No 'Red Wave' In Minnesota: Gov. Tim Walz, Other Dems Reelected
Gov. Tim Walz and Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon, both Democrats, are projected to win their reelection bids.
ST. PAUL, MN — A predicted Republican "red wave" never materialized Tuesday night in Minnesota or across the nation.
As of midnight Wednesday, no upsets had occurred in the Land of 10,000 Lakes. Democratic Gov. Tim Walz and Secretary of State Steve Simon are both projected to win their reelection bids.
Meanwhile, as of midnight, Democratic Attorney General Keith Ellison and State Auditor Julie Blaha both maintained small leads over their Republican challengers.

State Auditor race, unofficial tally at 12:08 a.m.
- Republican Ryan Wilson — 1,065,324 votes
- Democratic-Farmer-Labor Julie Blaha — 1,105,268 votes
Attorney General race, unofficial tally at 12:08 a.m.

- Republican Jim Schultz — 1,133,528 votes
- Democratic-Farmer-Labor Keith Ellison — 1,187,507 votes
Outside of the Second District — which was eventually called for Democratic Rep. Angie Craig — there was little drama in the races for Minnesota's U.S. House seats.
Republican Reps. Tom Emmer, Brad Finstad, Michelle Fischbach, and Pete Stauber are all projected to win reelection.
Democratic Reps. Ilhan Omar, Dean Phillips, and Betty McCollum were also projected to win reelection.
Control over the Minnesota House and Senate was yet to be determined.
