Northern Brewer welcomes University of Minnesota Hop Researcher, Josh Havill, for a lecture on growing your own hops! Josh’s work at the U aims to reduce the cost of starting new plants, by researching various techniques that would allow Midwest growers to effectively establish new plants from existing plants without requiring the purchase of new plants or rhizomes. Josh will walk you through some history of hop-growing in the United States, what to consider when planting you own hops at home and how and when to harvest.
