Petition: Bridgewater Should Blow Gjallarhorn Before Vikings-Packers Game
The petition asks that the Minnesota Vikings choose Teddy Bridgewater to sound the Gjallarhorn before the week two Vikings-Packers game.
A petition to have Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater blow the Gjallarhorn before the Sept. 18 Vikings-Packers game is gaining traction online.
Vikings fan Gilbert Thole created the petition with the hopes that Bridgewater, who suffered a season-ending injury Tuesday, would still have an important role in the team's home opener against the Green Bay Packers.
The petition reads:

Teddy Bridgewater is the leader of the Minnesota Vikings. It's why, upon dislocating his knee and tearing his ACL, the entire team went into a distraught state of shock. He's a fan favorite player, and an incredible human being. For these reasons, it would only be fair for him to be the one to christen US Bank Stadium with the first official sounding of the gjallarhorn.
As of 2:30 p.m., the petition had received 815 signatures.
Dozens of Vikings fans showed support for Bridgewater in the comments, including Bennett Remillard of Circle Pines, Minnesota, who wrote the following:

Teddy is a great human being and one hell of a team leader. I believe it would be an amazing feature to have him blow the horn at the first home game. Im sure you have someone that is doing it, but hands down, Teddy is more important at this moment. Doing this will help the team recover, help him recover, and help the city recover. Thank you.
This petition will be delivered to Vikings owners Zygi and Mark Wilf, as well as Vice President Lester Bagley.
The Vikings placed Teddy Bridgewater on injured reserve Wednesday, a day after the third-year quarterback tore his ACL and suffered other structural damage at practice.
The Vikings will play its season opener in Tennessee against the Titans on Sept. 11. They will play the Packers at home week two.
