MINNEAPOLIS, MN — From Jan. 24 through Jan. 30, officers from the Minneapolis Police Department have recovered 31 guns.

Each of these guns were recovered from people who were arrested for a crime and were not allowed to be in possession of a firearm under the law, according to police. The guns were recovered after traffic stops related to shots fired calls, vehicle chases, traffic crashes involving drunk drivers, and search warrants for drugs.

"Getting these guns off the street highlights the great proactive work our officers are doing every day to keep our community safe," police said in a statement.
