POLL: Who Should Be the Next Gophers Football Coach?
P.J. Fleck, Les Miles, Bryan Harsin, and even former NFL coach Chip Kelly are among the names thrown out as potential replacements.
MINNEAPOLIS, MN — Tracy Claeys has been fired as the University of Minnesota football coach. With National Signing Day (Feb. 1) fast approaching, the Gophers are scrambling to find a replacement.
Names that have already been tossed around as Claeys' potential replacement include Western Michigan coach P.J. Fleck, former LSU coach Les Miles, former NFL coach Chip Kelly, and Boise State coach Bryan Harsin.
Harsin was hired by current University of Minnesota athletic director Mark Coyle back when Coyle worked at Boise State.

On Tuesday, University of Minnesota athletic director Mark Coyle said he is "determined that the football program must move in a new direction to address challenges in recruiting, ticket sales and the culture of the program."
