Popularity For Gov. Tim Walz Falls In Minnesota: POLL

Most Minnesotans still approve of the job Gov. Tim Walz is doing, the poll finds, but his popularity has dipped.

MINNESOTA — A new poll finds that popularity for Gov. Tim Walz has fallen in the state, though most Minnesotans continue to approve of his job performance.

A poll conducted by news partners Star Tribune, MPR News, and KARE 11 found that Walz's approval rating is at 57 percent, down eight percentage points following a summer where coronavirus concerns and street violence in the Twin Cities dominated headlines.

The survey polled "likely Minnesota voters," according to the Star Tribune.

The newspaper's previous poll, which was conducted in May, slotted Walz's approval rating at 65 percent.
