Pregnant Woman Shot And Killed In Minneapolis; Baby Delivered

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — A baby was delivered after the mother was fatally shot in Minneapolis Sunday night. Around 9:15 p.m., Minneapolis police responded to the area of 37th Street East and Elliot Avenue on a report of a possible shooting.

Officers found the pregnant woman suffering from a gunshot wound, and paramedics transported her to the hospital.

The baby was delivered and placed in the NICU, but the baby's mother was pronounced dead.

The Minneapolis Homicide unit is investigating this death. The car the woman was in at the time of the shooting was towed as part of the investigation.

The woman's identity will be released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office.
