President Trump To Nominate University Of Minnesota Professor

President Trump announced his intent to nominate key additions to his administration, including a professor at the University of Minnesota.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A Minnesotan is expected to join the White House. President Donald Trump Monday announced his intent to nominate key additions to his administration, including a professor at the University of Minnesota. Stephen Parente will be nominated as Assistant Secretary of Health and Human Services, Planning and Evaluation.

Parente, PhD, MPH, MS, is the Minnesota Insurance Industry Chair of Health Finance in Carlson School of Management and the Director of the Medical Industry Leadership Institute at the University of Minnesota. As a Professor in the Finance Department, he specializes in health economics, information technology, and health insurance.

Parente has been the principal investigator funded-studies on consumer directed health plans since 2002. Dr. Parente was a health policy adviser for the McCain 2008 Presidential Campaign and served as Legislative Fellow in the office of Senator John D. Rockefeller IV in 1992 and 1993.

He has a doctorate from Johns Hopkins University.
