MINNEAPOLIS — A recount of ballots cast in the Minneapolis City Council Ward 2 race is set for Friday, city officials announced. It was requested Monday by candidate Yusra Arab, who is 19 votes behind the certified winner, Robin Wonsley Worlobah.

The recount will begin at 9 a.m. Friday at the Elections & Voter Services office on Hennepin Avenue. The recount, which is open to the public, will only include Worlobah and Arab.

Under state law, the recount must be publicly funded due to the small margin between the two candidates.
