Saying Goodbye: Minneapolis' Grand Café To Close in February

After a decade of serving up breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the Kingfield neighborhood of Minneapolis, the Grande Café​ will close.

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — After a decade of providing breakfast, lunch, and dinner in South Minneapolis, the Grande Café is preparing to close. The Kingfield neighborhood café on 38th and Grand will serve its last entrees Sunday, Feb. 10.

"As we celebrate our 10th year as Grande Café, we are humbled by the support we have had from our friends veterans and our amazing staff, past and present," the restaurant said on Facebook Sunday. "Opening and sustaining a restaurant is not something you do alone. We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone that helped make grand Café a warm and special place."

"We are ready for a new chapter and we are saying goodbye."

Tributes and comments from sad and disappointed regulars poured in on the restaurant's Facebook page as the news began to spread.

"We have sincerely enjoyed creating an operating Grand Café. We will miss seeing all of you regulars that have been a part of the grands and ambiance and wish you love laughter and all the best."
