Sen. Amy Klobuchar Releases Medical Report: 'Very Good Health'

Sen. Amy Klobuchar is ramping up her campaign efforts ahead of Super Tuesday.

MINNEAPOLIS — With Super Tuesday less than a week away, Democratic primary candidate Amy Klobuchar made public her medical report, which shows her to be "in very good health," her campaign said.

Jennifer M. McKeand, MD FACOG of Women’s Health Consultants writes that "Senator Amy J. Klobuchar is in very good health. She does not have any health conditions that would impair her ability to perform the duties of the Presidency."

The U.S. senator from Minnesota currently has seven delegates, which puts her in fifth place in the fight for the Democratic presidential nomination. Frontrunner Bernie Sanders has 45 delegates.

Minnesotans, along with voters in 13 other states, will head to the polls Tuesday for their primary elections.

Klobuchar will need upset victories Tuesday if she wants her campaign to have legs beyond next week. On Wednesday, her staff announced several endorsements out of California.

"Californians want a president who can unite America and bring us together, and Amy Klobuchar will be that leader," Deputy State Director Edwin Torres said in a statement.

"These endorsers bring a range of experiences to our team, and we look forward to them serving as advocates for Senator Klobuchar as we continue to build our grassroots campaign ahead of the California primary."

The full list of endorsers includes:

  • Dave Cortese, Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors and San Jose City Council
  • Eric Friedman, Santa Barbara city councilman
  • Ian Bain, Redwood City Council member
  • Jim Perry, Riverside City Council member
  • Prameela Bartholomeusz, Santa Clara County Central Committee finance director
  • Gautam Dutta, former deputy director for political reform, New America Foundation; and former executive director, Asian American Action Fund
  • Maria Echaveste, former deputy chief of staff to President Bill Clinton
  • Danna Lewis, Assembly delegate District 73
  • Lynn Schenk, former U.S. congresswoman
  • Joey Acuña Jr., vice president, Coachella Valley Unified School District Eastern Riverside County
  • Marisa Perez, California Community College trustee; Cerritos College trustee for cities of Lakewood, Bellflower, Cerritos and Long Beach
