Shooting Near Downtown Minneapolis Leaves 1 Injured

An early morning shooting near downtown Minneapolis left one man with a non-life threatening injury.

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — An early morning shooting near downtown Minneapolis left one man with a non-life threatening injury.

Around 2:14 a.m. this morning, Minneapolis police responded to a person with a gun in a parking lot on the 400 block of Hennepin Avenue South. While in en-route to the call officers heard one shot and it was updated to a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center by ambulance and was treated for his non-life threatening injury, according to a news release.

Officers are reviewing cameras in the vicinity of the shooting for suspects. The First Precinct officers will be in the area of the shooting in the coming days engaging with the community and speaking with business owners. Community members are strongly encouraged to speak with officers about this crime or any other concerns they may have.
