Small Fire Put Out At Minneapolis Federal Reserve Building: MFD
An employee trying to torch open a frozen metal door accidentally started a small fire at a federal building Wednesday morning.

MINNEAPOLIS, MN —A fire broke out at the Minneapolis Federal Reserve Wednesday morning after an employee tried to heat a metal door with a torch after the door froze shut.
The Minneapolis Fire Department said in a news release that crews were called at around 10:30 a.m. to the Federal Reserve Building on Hennepin Avenue South, where they saw heavy black smoke billowing out of a loading dock by the metal roll-up door.
Crews were able to put out the burning foam by spraying water on the walls. No one was hurt and there was no structural damage to the building or door, MFD said.
