Stalking, Sexual Assault Charges Against U of M Professor Dismissed

The Hennepin County Attorney's Office said "thorough and diligent efforts to corroborate" the allegations were unsuccessful.

The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office Thursday said they filed the necessary document to drop all charges against Francesco Parisi, the University of Minnesota law professor who was previously charged with sexually assaulting and stalking a student.

Prosecutors dismissed the charges "in the interest of justice," the attorney’s office said, adding that "thorough and diligent efforts to corroborate or verify a number of specific allegations against Mr. Parisi that were made to the Minneapolis Police Department and the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office were unsuccessful."

Considering all of the evidence gathered during the course of the investigation, authorities say the charges are no longer supported by probable cause and dismissed.
