Stay Off Ice: Hovercraft Used In Rescue On Minnesota Lake
On Thursday, the Bemidji Fire Department used a hovercraft to rescue someone who fell through the ice while on a lake.
BEMIDJI, MN — "Stay off the ice!" That's the message from Chief Deputy Beitel following several instances of people and vehicles going through the ice in Beltrami County.
“Though they have been properly equipped and trained each one of these incidents has placed multiple first responders in very precarious, dangerous situations," Beitel said in a statement.
"Please stay off the ICE! Cold water kills.”
