Sunburn in Dogs

Can dogs can sunburnt? Read on to find out!

Your dog can get sunburnt in the summertime. This is especially true of white, short coated dogs. Chronic exposure to the sun can cause skin damage and in some cases skin cancer.

If you have a white, short coated dog you can apply sunscreen to their ears and face. To protect the body, use a lightweight T-shirt. Sometimes, it may be better not to take them outside in the full midday sun. Early morning or evening when the sun is not so intense would be better.
