SUV Tumbles From I-35W Onto City Street: 1 Killed, 3 Injured
A Chevy Suburban was going at "a high rate of speed" when it rolled off the interstate and onto a Minneapolis street, authorities said.

MINNEAPOLIS — A driver was killed and three passengers suffered life-threatening injuries early Monday morning when an SUV tumbled off of Interstate 35W in Minneapolis. Only one car was involved in the crash.
Just before 2:30 a.m., a 2005 Chevy Suburban was going north on I-35W "at a high rate of speed" when the driver lost control, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
The SUV then rolled from the interstate onto Johnson Street, authorities said.

None of the passengers — in their 20s and 30s — were wearing seat belts, according to investigators. The passengers are from Little Canada and Minneapolis.
It is not yet known if alcohol was a factor in the crash, authorities said. Road conditions were dry at the time, according to investigators.

Troopers did not yet say if the deceased driver — a 41-year-old from St. Paul — had been wearing a seat belt.
