The ticks are out! It's important to screen for exposure to the lyme bacteria, read on to see what the lyme test entails...

Many veterinarians will screen for exposure to the Lyme bacteria as part of your dog’s annual heart worm test. This test is an antibody test, so a positive test doesn’t mean that your dog has Lyme disease.

Less then 10% of dogs that are exposed to Lyme bacteria get sick with symptoms . If your dog ‘s Lyme test is positive, your veterinarian may recommend doing some follow up tests or possibly a course of antibiotics.
