Traveling with a pet by car can be a great experience, but also tends to go more smoothly with a little planning.

Getting either a dog or cat used to pet carriers and the car before a long journey is well worth the effort. Offering good treats in an unmoving car can be a good starting point that eventually helps pets get used to being in and near the car.
