Twin Cities Businessman Faces Child Pornography Charge

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — A Minneapolis businessman has been charged with a single count of possession of child pornography, the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office announced Friday.

Gregory Matthew Dolphin, 62, of Minneapolis, was charged Friday afternoon and is expected to make his first court appearance Monday.

Dolphin is the owner of Dolphin Staffing, according to officials.

Prosecutors will seek bail of $100,000.

According to the criminal complaint, social media companies are required to inform police agencies if they discover that their programs are being used to acquire or distribute child pornography.

Police refer to these as cybertips and a number of them came to the Minneapolis Police Department on Dolphin, according to authorities.

Investigators say based on the cybertips, Minneapolis police obtained search warrants on Dolphin’s media devices, his home and his office.

Police executed the search warrants Thursday and while doing so, arrested Dolphin outside of his home, according to a news release.

They searched him and took the cell phone and two flash drives he was carrying. Officers also seized his computer, the complaint states.

Police investigators have begun reviewing Dolphin’s media devices.

Already, a video was discovered on one of the flash drives showing a juvenile girl being sexually abused, according to authorities.

The examination of the media devices and the computer is continuing, according to the complaint.
