Minneapolis Bar Closed 'Indefinitely' After Bus Crashes Into It

More than half of the Campus Connector bus — which shuttles University of Minnesota students — ended up inside a West Bank bar Tuesday.

MINNEAPOLIS — There were no injuries Tuesday when a University of Minnesota Campus Connector bus crashed into the Acadia Cafe. It's not yet clear what caused the crash.

Acadia is located on Cedar Avenue and Riverside Avenue in Minneapolis's West Bank neighborhood. The bus hit the cafe just after 12 p.m.

The structural integrity of the building will be inspected by the city of Minneapolis. The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.

"Everyone is safe," a GoFundMe Page for the cafe reads. "We are closed indefinitely and asking for funds to help compensate our workers during this time. Thank you for all your support of The Acadia. We appreciate this community greatly."

As of Tuesday afternoon, more than $4,000 had been raised.
