U Profs Could Be Fired Under Proposed Transgender Policy: Report
Those who fail to call transgender men and women by their preferred pronouns could be fired under a newly-drafted policy.

TWIN CITIES, MN — Professors at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities could lose their jobs if they don't use transgender students' preferred pronouns. A newly-drafted gender identity policy at Minnesota's flagship public university is aimed at fighting "misgendering," or calling someone by a name or pronoun they don't use.
Those who violate the policy could be fired or expelled, reports the Star Tribune.
"The intent is to be able to create more access and an inclusive environment for all of our community members regardless of their gender identity," Gabrielle Mead, assistant director of the U’s Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action office, told the newspaper.
