Everson Griffen Acted Strange, Discussed Self-Harm: Report
Minnesota Vikings' Everson Griffen is now reportedly undergoing a mental health evaluation.

MINNEAPOLIS — Minnesota Vikings general manager Rick Spielman says the organization is focused on "providing the appropriate support" to defensive end Everson Griffen after he was allegedly involved in an incident at a Minneapolis hotel.
One person at Hotel Ivy threatened to shoot staff there Saturday, according to police records, though no gun was ever seen. A source tells KSTP Griffen was the one who made the threat. He was not arrested.
The Vikings kicked Griffen out of practice Saturday before the alleged threat at the hotel, according to a police report. Authorities said the team later learned Griffen had been acting strange, wasn't sleeping, and had discussed harming himself.

Griffen, a three-time Pro Bowler, missed the Vikings' home game Sunday. Coach Mike Zimmer said at the post-game press conference he was absent due to a "personal matter."
Griffen is now undergoing a mental health evaluation at a local hospital. He has been battling a serious mental health-related issue for weeks, reports NFL network's Tom Pelissero.

"We are aware of the situation involving Everson Griffen and certainly concerned by what we have heard," Spielman said in a statement late Monday night.
"We are currently focused on Everson's well-being and providing the appropriate support for him and his family."
Police spokesman told me this morning what’s outlined here: police were called to Hotel Ivy, which is near team hotel, last Saturday afternoon. But person involved left immediately, was not ID’d. No arrest, no report, no traffic cam footage in area. https://t.co/mLntAR4s5Q

The Vikings injury report Monday said Griffen did not practice due to a "knee/not injury related" designation.
Griffen has played nine seasons in the NFL, all for the Vikings.
