Watch: Earliest Tornadoes In MN History Reported Monday
An early severe weather outbreak produced large hail, damaging winds and reported tornadoes across Minnesota Monday.
On Monday, an early spring severe weather outbreak produced large hail and damaging wind and tornadoes across Minnesota.
This marks the earliest date in Minnesota history that a tornado was ever recorded, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
The previous record was March 18, 1968.

NWS will survey a an area of damage in Sherburne County that matches up with radar indicated rotation to determine if the damage was caused by a tornado.
Tornados were reported in Zimmerman and Princeton, Minnesota, just northwest of the Twin Cities. A tornado was also reported in Clarks Grove in southern Minnesota.

NWS says strong west winds with gusts of 45 to 55 mph are expected Tuesday. A few thunderstorms may develop in the late afternoon from south central to east central Minnesota and west central Wisconsin.
