MINNEAPOLIS — Former Minneapolis police officer Mohamed Noor will be resentenced Thursday morning in the 2017 fatal shooting of Justine Ruszczyk Damond.

In 2019, Noor was found guilty of second-degree manslaughter and third-degree murder. But Noor faces resentencing in Hennepin County Court after the Minnesota Supreme Court overturned his third-degree murder conviction in September.

Noor, 36, was originally sentenced to serve a 12.5-year prison sentence when he was first convicted in 2019.
