Woman Jumps Off Highway 62 Bridge After T-Bone Crash: MSP

A woman is in stable condition after jumping off a highway bridge in Minneapolis after a crash, the Minnesota State Patrol said.

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — A woman is in stable condition after jumping off a highway bridge in Minneapolis immediately after a crash, the Minnesota State Patrol (MSP) reported. Authorities say on Aug. 4, a 2005 Dodge Caravan was headed the wrong-way, westbound in the eastbound lanes of traffic on Highway 62 just before 8:30 p.m.

The driver of the Dodge tried to correct, causing a t-bone crash with a Toyota Camry, according to MSP. The Dodge van then stopped on the right shoulder of the westbound lanes of traffic, and the occupants exited the vehicle. The driver of the van was stopping westbound traffic and got into one of the passing cars, authorities said.

The car then stopped on the shoulder of westbound Highway 62 over Interstate 35W. As troopers were approaching a female passenger from the Dodge van she jumped off the bridge into southbound lanes of I-35W, according to MSP.
