After 'Horrific' Crash, MN Track Star To Begin At-Home Therapy
Jesseca Overland is set to come home after an Aug. 1 collision put her in the hospital and put her collegiate athletic career on hold.

FOREST LAKE, MN — Jesseca Overland is set to begin at-home therapy less than a month after a serious crash put her in the hospital, delaying her collegiate cross country and track career. Overland, 18, was pulling into the driveway of a Columbus, Minnesota home when she was t-boned by another vehicle on Aug. 1.
Since then, she's made significant strides on the road to recovery.
"Jesseca has had a very strong week of PT, Speech and OT," her sister wrote on her CaringBridge Journal this week. "With that said, she gets to come home MONDAY!"

The Forest Lake High School graduate was airlifted to North Memorial Hospital after the crash. She suffered 12 broken ribs, a broken clavicle, and her pelvis was fractured in three places.

Both lungs collapsed, and Overland suffered injuries to her spleen and liver. She was set to run cross country and track as a freshman this year at St. Cloud State University.
The Minnesota State High School League said on Facebook that the "horrific life-changing" crash hit the Forest Lake community hard and its "hurting as well as trying to stay strong for Jesseca."
More than $22,800 has been raised to support Overland's recovery via GoFundMe.
In addition to GoFundMe, on Monday night, a benefit dinner was hosted at the Forest Lake Famous Dave's where both Overland and her sister, Miranda, have previously worked.
