After Two Alcohol Citations from Police, a Lino Lakes Man Spends the Night in Detox

After two incidents with Stillwater Police, a 20-year-old Lino Lakes man was taken to Detox after partying too hard at Lumberjack Days.

A 20-year-old Lino Lakes man worked (and allegedly drank) hard to spend some time in Detox last night.

Stillwater police were on routine Lumberjack Days patrol just before midnight on Friday when two officers saw three young adults drinking beer in the 500 block of Main Street.

When the men saw police they tried to hide the bottles of beer, the police report states. After getting the result of preliminary breath tests, the officers cited the Lino Lakes man and one of his friends, a 20-year-old Centerville man, with minor consumption of alcohol. The men were told to stop drinking and to go home for the night.

The third person, a 21-year-old Circle Pines man, was cited for open container of alcohol in public.

About three hours later, the same officers saw the Lino Lakes man β€œstaggering northbound on Main” toward the officers. The man appeared to be β€œextremely intoxicated,” the report states.

When the officer called him over to talk, the man allegedly attempted to flee on foot, only to trip and fall in the front yard of the Warden’s Museum after β€œflipping over a rail he had not seen,” the report states.

The man then told police he was drinking in the bars with a fake ID since his last contact with law enforcement. Police found the fake ID, cited the man for fleeing and misrepresentation of age and took him to jail.

The man was later transported to Dakota County Detox.Β
