UPDATE: Second Stillwater Man Dies from Injuries at UW-Eau Claire Apartment Fire
Two Stillwater men have died as a result of an apartment fire on Monday morning in Eau Claire, Wis.

An apartment fire in Eau Claire, Wis., has claimed the lives of two Stillwater men.
Ross Livermore, 21, was killed in Monday's tragic apartment fire. He was sophomore computer science major who was on leave from the university this semester.
Jacob Clarkson, 21, died today at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, according to a hospital spokesperson. He was a senior physics major.

"Today we said goodbye to our son, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew and cousin, Jacob," the Clarkson family said in a statement released through HCMC. "β¨β¨Jacob enjoyed life and willed that others would have the chance for life, too.

"Thatβs why weβre honoring his decision to be an organ donor. We are so proud of him β and we miss him more than words can say. β¨β¨Thanks to everyone who kept our family in their prayers during this difficult time. Please continue to pray for us and also for Rossβ family as we grieve the loss of our sons."
Garret Isakson andΒ Casey Malan, both 21, were treated at medical facilities in Eau Claire and released.
According to police:
The four menβall from Stillwaterβwere living above a business called Clear Water Real Estate on Water Street.
βThe university, UW-Eau Claire Foundation and the Red Cross are assisting the students left homeless by this tragedy,"Β according to a news release from UW-Eau Claire. "The Student Services Commission of the UW-Eau Claire Student Senate also is accepting donations for the displaced students; items may be dropped off at the University Service Center or the Student Organizations Complex in the Davies Student Center.β

A fire at an apartment in Eau Claire, Wis., has claimed the life of at least one man, and injured three others, according to the Leader-Telegram.
The four menβreportedly all friends from Stillwaterβwere living above a business located above Clear Water Real Estate. The names of the men involved have not yet been released.
βIt is with great sadness that I am sharing with you the tragic news that a fire early this morning at a Water Street apartment has taken the life of a UW-Eau Claire student and left another seriously injured, a statement from Gilles Bousquet the interim chancelor at UW-Eau Claire reads. βA third UW-Eau Claire student is being treated at an Eau Claire hospital for injuries sustained in the fire, while a fourth student was treated for minor injuries and released.β

βEmergency crews were called to the 600 block of Water Street early this morning after smoke was seen coming from the building in which the students' apartment was housed.
We are working closely with Eau Claire Police and Fire officials as they are gathering information about the circumstances of the fire and our students who were in the building at the time of the fire. We also are providing support to the students involved in the fire and their families.
While we understand that our campus community is anxious to know more about our students who were involved in this tragedy, we must be respectful of their families and loved ones.
We will share the identities of the students who were killed or injured in this morning's fire once law enforcement officials have assured us that their families have been notified. As we wait for more information, please join me in keeping these students and their loved ones in your thoughts during this very difficult time.β
