Arrest Made Following Assault in Washington Co. Friday

The Washington County Sheriff's Office says authorities responded to a "suspicious situation" before 7:00 a.m. Friday morning.

Authorities say an assault possibly involving a firearm took place in Washington County Friday morning.

On Aug. 26 at approximately 6:47 a.m., the Washington County Sheriff's Office responded to an address on the 3200 block of St. Croix Tr. S., in the city of Afton, for a "suspicious situation."

Once on scene, deputies learned that there had been an assault and an arrest was made, according to a news release.

The number of sheriffs who responded to the incident was extensive because someone reported that there was a firearm at the scene.

There is an active investigation into the case and authorities say no other information will be released at this time.
