Authorities Seek Suspects in Washington County Train Derailment

The Union Pacific Railroad believes someone dumping brush and logs on the tracks caused a recent train derailment in West Lakeland Township.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is looking for assistance in locating the party responsible for dumping brush and logs near the railroad tracks at Quant and St. Croix Trail in West Lakeland Township. The Union Pacific Railroad believes the dumping of these items caused the train derailment that occurred on Nov. 8.

Nobody was injured in the derailment.

Authorities ask that anyone with information on who is responsible for the dumping of the brush to call the Washington County Sheriff’s Office at (651) 430-7876.
