There are some notable changes to administration and school start times in the Stillwater Area School District this year. Here's a quick recap of the moves, and a link to the new school hours.

Changing school hours, according to school district officials, allows for more efficiency in transportation and will result in nearly $300,000 in cost savings.

New Leadership: Several new leaders joined the Stillwater Area Public School District over the summer, while other administrators moved to new positions within the district.

As a result of restructuring district administration to reduce costs, an assistant superintendent and the director of curriculum and instruction positions have been replaced with two new executive directors of curriculum, innovation and leadership.

  • Mary Andersen will oversee elementary education and Mike Redmond will lead the secondary schools.
  • Paul Lee was recently hired to take over for Mary Mesler as director of Student Support Services.
  • Mark Drommerhausen, former Andersen Elementary principal, will be leading .
  • Former Lily Lake Principal Malinda Lansfeldt will move to Andersen Elementary and will also be responsible for leading and overseeing the district’s new elementary STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) program. According to district officials, moving to Andersen (with a smaller population of students) will allow Lansfeldt to take on the additional district-wide duties, which will result in a cost savings to the district.
  • will also have a new principal following the resignation of Dawn Wiegand. Ginny Kruse Rudolph, who served as the director of curriculum and instruction for the past two years, will take over as principal for the coming school year.
