Battle of the Bands Coming to Lake Elmo
The City of Lake Elmo is seeking bands to rock the stage at its Battle of the Bands competition, a new addition to the annual Lake Elmo Days community festival, which will be held Sept. 6 & 7, 2013.
Calling all local bands! Are you looking for a chance to shine? The City of Lake Elmo will be holding their first-ever Battle of the Bands competition on Friday, September 7, 2013, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Applications are currently being accepted.
'We've started this event with the intention to get youth more engaged in the community, and provide them with an opportunity to perform in front of a good crowd," said event coordinator, Alyssa MacLeod. "However, this competition is not limited to any particular genre or age, and bands don't have to be from Lake Elmo. We're really just looking to have a fun event and bring some liveliness and music into the city"
Battle of the Bands is part of the two-day annual Lake Elmo Days community festival, which takes place the weekend after Labor Day. Other activities include a parade (and float competition), community talent showcase, expo, silent auction, kids activities, pig roast, concessions, "Everybody Wins Children's Pet Show," and live music provided by Ken Wanovich and Lake Elmo's own, Wheelhouse, a 70s and 80s classic rock cover band.
Lake Elmo Days will take place Sept. 6 & 7, 2013 in downtown Lake Elmo. For more information visit www.lakeelmo.org/elmodays. For more information or to get involved: amacleod@lakeelmo.org or 651-747-3908.
