Greg Bancroft will be at the Lake Elmo Public Library on Wednesday, July 10, 6:30 pm to share his book, “Betsy’s Day at the Game.” It is a story of a granddaughter who loves hanging out with her grandfather, especially at the ballpark. The peanuts, Cracker Jacks, cotton candy and hot dogs are important, but equally important is the scorecard and the family tradition. This book teaches, step by step and in plain English, how to keep track of it all, foul balls, homeruns and favorite players. The book includes a full scorecard and the author will teach everyone how to fill out their own. This will help not only the young, but the young at heart how to play a game in your head just by reading the scorecard.
Greg Bancroft grew up in a small town and as a kid played baseball almost every day. He now lives in Minneapolis, and still loves the game. Books will be available for signing and purchase from Chapter2Books, that evening at the library.
