UPDATE: Oakdale Vehicle Strikes Bicyclist in Lake Elmo

A 22-year-old Minneapolis man was transported to Regions Hospital Saturday night after being struck by a vehicle driven by a 46-year-old Oakdale man on County Road 5 near Manning Avenue in Lake Elmo.

A bicyclist was transported to Regions Hospital Saturday night after being struck by a vehicle on Highway 5 near Manning Avenue in Lake Elmo.

The bicyclist’s injuries were not life threatening, according to a Washington County dispatch. No arrests were made.

David Bartel, 46, of Oakdale was driving a 2000 Chevy Silverado on County Road 5 at about 10:37 p.m. Saturday when he struck a bicyclist, Michael Geving, 22, of Minneapolis, Minnesota State Patrol Sgt. Curtis Mowers said.

Geving was taken to Regions Hospital by Lakeview Ambulance with back and side pain, Mowers said. His injuries are believed to be non-life threatening, non-serious injuries.

The crash remains under investigation, Mowers said.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Lake Elmo Rescue, Lakeview EMS and Minnesota State Patrol responded to the crash.
