Bounty Hunter Leads To Mahtomedi High Lockdown: Sheriff

The Washington County Sheriff's said the presence of a credentialed bounty hunter lead to a lockdown at Mahtomedi High School Thursday.

STILLWATER, MN — Authorities said the presence of a correctly credentialed bounty hunter lead to a lockdown at a high school in Stillwater Thursday. On June 1 at 12:25 p.m., the Washington County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officer assigned to the Mahtomedi High School received information from two students. The students reported that while off school property, they observed an adult male in a blue truck.

They reported that the male was wearing a bulletproof vest and had a firearm. A Washington County Sheriff’s Deputy located the suspect male at his residence and identified him as a bounty hunter who had all the correct credential and that he was not a threat to public safety.

At no time was the individual on Mahtomedi High School property, according to authorities. For the safety of the students and staff, all school district buildings implemented a modified lockdown. There are no charges in this case.
