A video glimpse inside one of OUR “Painted Ladies”
Jeremy and Erin Drews of the Ann Bean Mansion, enjoy the challenge, and reward of being inn-keepers!
What an honor for Stillwater to receive a “PRETTIEST PAINTED PLACES" award for the Midwest Region by Dow, Int'l in a national competition. Of course, we’ve always known how beautiful our “Painted Ladies” are here in our hometown and visitors have been coming to Stillwater for decades for the opportunity to spend some time in some of our grandest “Ladies”, the Stillwater Bed and Breakfasts!
Tour Main Street was honored to work with Jeremy and Erin Drews and in the process get a glimpse into their world as innkeepers. Owning a B & B came as a natural evolution of business ownership for Jeremy as a former remodeling contractor. Allowing him to hone his craft in a home full of Stillwater history, he enjoys the challenge of updating it with modern features while maintaining the historic character of the structure. A walk around the mansion testifies to his talents!
The Drews have entertained guests from all over the world, and even the local community. Many of their guests are there to celebrate a special occasion, others just to get away. Jeremy and Erin take it upon themselves to provide that escape and shield them in a quiet, peaceful place. They’ve also enjoyed visiting with their guests, getting to know them and their varied experiences which allows them to take away a fresh perspective and they continually work to hone the experience they can provide to each new visitor. As with many of our local B and Bs the guest is treated as an individual and provided with a top notch experience that, at least from this writer’s perspective, is way above and beyond what we are used to at the typical hotel chains that get our business.

What’s neat about the owners of the Historic Ann Bean Mansion, is they enjoy so much the work they do. They revel in the challenge of owning this beautiful “Painted Lady”, but equally they enjoy the connections they’ve been able to make with people from all over the world while enjoying a good meal.
It’s good for all of us to remember that we don't need to go far to experience something new and it's always nice to be treated to some top-notch hospitality right here in Stillwater.
