Final Summer Tuesday

Next week is the final week of Summer Tuesdays 2012. But Summer Tuesdays, Inc. isn't over...by a long shot. Confused? Don't worry, that's because our non-profit is called Summer Tuesdays, Inc. AND one of the events we run is called Summer Tuesdays. We just really want to make sure you are paying attention.

So since April we have been meeting about Summer Tuesdays (the event), and in the midst of running the actual event for the past six weeks, we have also been preparing ourselves for the next two events, “Paint on the Water” and “Stillwater Harvest Fest.” And believe me, its hard to put my heart into fall events when summer is in full swing, but it will be here before we know it, and we've got stuff to plan! Vendors, beer and wine tasting, chili cook-off, kid's parade, pumpkin regatta, giant pumpkin drop, and more! (note: this was written to not only entice you to attend, but to act as part of our to-do list. Two birds, one stone!)

Also, I've decided that all these blogs shouldn't just be about the good stuff – puppies and flowers, but a mixture. So something good about last week: taking the donation bucket around, and having people stop ME to give money. Such a cool feeling. And something bad about the week before last: one of the porto-pots was tipped over at the end of the night. I have to admit, I snickered for a moment at the sight of the poor thing on its side with the door wide open, exposing itself. But a quick phone call later, the problem was solved, and it hasn't happened since.

But since this is the final Summer Tuesdays 2012, I've decided that the weekly photo contest should be.....”Favorite Photo from the 1980's!” That's right, we'll be watching “The Goonies” and just like Cyndi Lauper rocked her look in the music video, we'd like to see your looks from the 1980s.
